Anchor, the Mammoth is a 5-piece indie rock band from the southeast side of Houston, TX. Having performed in Houston since early 2017, this group of Houston Chicanos have also traveled to San Antonio, Dallas, San Marcos, Austin, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas to share their music. Anchor has opened for national and Grammy nominated acts, headlined countless of shows in the Houston area, and played in some of Houston’s most prominent music venues.
The band draws inspiration from a variety of bands and artists such as Modest Mouse, HRVRD, Curtis Mayfield, The Paper Kites, and Albert Hammond Jr. to name a few.
Anchor, the Mammoth consists of Manuel Castro, Rudy Olivares, Albert Casarrubias, Lou Flores, and Juan Olivares. On some occasions, you may also see them perform with session musician Alexis Castro.
